Invisalign is a ground-breaking invisible brace system (orthodontic treatment) that is responsible for straightening over 9 million smiles and counting since it’s launch in 2000. It has turned orthodontics on its head and completely transformed the way we move teeth. These invisible braces are transparent and virtually invisible.
Invisalign is great for patients who are allergic to the metal used in traditional braces or for people who want to move their teeth while minimising anyone knowing. The aligners are very comfortable and virtually invisible so whether you’re at work or out socialising people won’t be able to tell that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. As the Invisalign clear braces are completely removable, you are able to eat or drink whatever you like during treatment. You can also brush and floss your teeth as you normally would.
What are the advantages?
Invisalign is the world’s most widely used Invisible brace system and has been in use for 20 years helping straighten teeth for more than 8 million people worldwide.
Comfortable to Wear: Invisalign aligners are comfortable to wear as there are no metal brackets or wires to cause mouth irritation. No metal or wires also means you spend less time in the orthodontist’s chair getting adjustments.
Enjoy Your New Smile Sooner: Invisalign starts working straight away so you can start enjoying the benefits of a better smile sooner. For many people, the desired results can be achieved in months not years.
Virtually Invisible: Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible so you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. They’re also removable so you can eat and drink whatever you want during treatment.
Removable Aligners: Invisalign aligners are easy to clean as these are removable, you can brush and floss normally, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent decalcification.
Custom-made Aligners: Our dentists will take a mess-free digital scan impression of your teeth and Invisalign will make custom-made aligners for a faster, effective, and safer treatment process.
How does it work?
Invisalign straightens your teeth using a sequence of virtually invisible, clear, customised, removable aligners, which gradually and gently move your teeth into the desired position – avoiding the need for visible fixed brackets and wires.
The aligners work by applying pressure to specific teeth at different times, gradually moving them bit by bit into the desired position. Each aligner should be for one to two weeks before replacing them with the next one in the series until the teeth alignment is corrected to the final position. You can see your new smile before receiving your braces. Invisalign Clincheck software helps us visualise how your teeth will look at different stages of your treatment so we can monitor your progress. Your dentist will review your teeth movement during the course of treatment with regular checks ups. For best results the aligners must be worn between 20 and 22 hours a day – just taking them out for eating, brushing, or flossing your teeth.
What issues can be treated?
What is the procedure?
We start by taking quick and precise impressions of both arches. Once this is done, they are sent off to the specialist labs in order for them to make the aligners.
Begin wearing your aligners: You will receive the custom made clear aligners for your teeth from Invisalign. On your first fit appointment expect to be in the chair for approximately 40 minutes to have all custom-made attachments and any smoothing of teeth carried out before trying on your first pair of aligners!
Each aligner is worn for one to two weeks before being replaced by the next one until we get the teeth adjusted to the right position. Monthly reviews are carried out to examine your progress and ensure everything is moving correctly in the right direction. The time taken to complete the treatment varies from person to person, depending on the complexity of the case.
You keep wearing your virtually transparent and easy to take out Invisalign aligners whilst eating and enjoying all your favourite food and keep brushing your teeth.
Finish Treatment – Retainer Fitting:
Once your treatment is complete you will be given a custom-made set of Vivera® retainers to ensure the teeth do not relapse and you have long-lasting results. As well as this we also offer fixed wire retainers. With this treatment, a wire is attached to the back of the front teeth to ensure there is no movement in the future and you keep your brand new smile.
What is the cost?
As a general rule, the cost is comparable to traditional fixed braces. Although your cost will vary depending on the complexity of your case, how long you are in treatment, and what plans your Invisalign provider offer. The average price for Invisalign full comprehensive treatment in London and UK generally is £4,000. However, if only a minor tooth movement is required, Invisalign prices could start from £2,000.
Eyespy Eye and Dental Care is proud to be one of London’s leading providers of Invisalign so we get the big trade discount from INVISALIGN® which we pass on to our patients. Our comprehensive INVISALIGN® packages start from as low as £1200 (1 Arch) and £2400 (2 arches)
